The countdown is officially on. In just two weeks, young performers from across the community will be stepping into the magical world of Shrek The Musical Jr for our VCL Summer Youth Project 2026 auditions — and if you haven’t registered yet, this is your moment.
Auditions take place on Sunday 26th April at The Old Savoy, and we cannot wait to fill the building with energy, excitement and a whole lot of fairy‑tale fun.
Before we get to the big day, here are three brilliant reasons why now is the perfect time to sign up.
1. Grow confidence by stepping into the spotlight
Whether your child is a seasoned performer or brand new to the stage, this project gives them the chance to sing, dance, act and take creative risks in a supportive environment. It’s a fantastic way to build confidence while being part of a real, fully staged production.
2. Make friends through a shared magical adventure
There’s something special about working together to bring a story to life. From ogres to donkeys to fairy‑tale creatures, Shrek Jr brings young people together fast. It’s a welcoming, inclusive community where everyone belongs.
3. Stay active, creative and learning through the Summer
Rehearsals are packed with movement, music and imagination. Kids stay engaged and energised while developing skills they’ll carry into school and beyond — all while having a blast.
A Huge Thank You to Those Already Registered for our Summer Youth Project
We’re thrilled to see so many enthusiastic young performers signed up already. Your excitement is infectious, and we can’t wait to welcome you through the doors of The Old Savoy on Sunday 26th April. It’s going to be an unforgettable day.
