Audition to perform in Shrek: The Musical Jr!
We are excited to announce our second annual Summer Youth Project in Northampton, bringing everyone's favorite Orgre to The Old Savoy in our production of Shrek The Musical Jr. This vibrant adaptation of the classic animated film brings the enchanting story of Shrek, Fiona, and Donkey to life on stage, offering a fantastic opportunity for young performers to showcase their talent.
About the Production
Shrek The Musical Jr follows the journey of an ogre named Shrek who embarks on a quest to rescue Princess Fiona. Along the way, he encounters a variety of colorful characters, including the witty Donkey and a host of fairy tale misfits. This heartwarming tale teaches important lessons about friendship, acceptance, and being true to oneself.
Participation Details
Who Can Participate: Open to young performers aged 9-18 (must be at least 9 years old by 03/08/2026 - must be no older than 18 by 15/08/2026).
Auditions: Auditions will be held on Sunday 26th April 2026, 11am to 3pm, at The Old Savoy, Northampton, NN1 4AE
Rehearsals & Performance: The project will take place in Northampton, every day from 3rd - 15th August 2026 (except Sun 9th Aug) including performances (participants must be available for all dates).
Fees: The fees for the project are £260 (£230 sibling) which includes: a project t-shirt, all tuition, rehearsals and performances for the two weeks. Following auditions, a deposit of £50 will be payable on acceptance of the place, which is deductible from the total fees.
Spaces: We only have 70 spaces available for the project which will be selected following audition day, all remaining participants will be placed on a waiting list and offered spaces if someone else withdraws. Coming to auditions does not guarentee a space on the project.
